Leavers Ball 2015.

Hey!
Its Monday! The worst day of the week... but I.m here writing a new post about an amazing event that happened last Friday. It was my leavers ball which marked the end of a journey at a school I had been at for 7 years. I had made some some amazing friends... and just because the school time has ended our friendship hasn't. However, I am here to share with you my day and night!

They day started off very stressful, I felt like I had so much to do in such a small amount of time, so I got up at 7:30. I showered and changed and did some sorting and cleaning and finished writing cards for my friends. By then it was almost 11am and I needed to head off to town to get my hair done for the night ahead of me! I decided to have a half up half down style with the ends curled.
(On the night I also placed in some gems to make it a little more special but forgot to take a picture). Since I have such thick hair I was at the hair dressers for around 2 hours!

After having my hair done I got home around 3 after having a little shop. I cooked some lunch and watched an episode of love island! (absolutely loving this show!). Then it was onto my make-up. I did a very clean simple cat eye look with some shimmery eye-shadow, and a very clean fresh face which was slightly bronzed to to give me for a sun kissed look and less pale!

Then it was time to put on the dress and have photos with my mum, dad and one of my bestfriends. after having a ctach up and a chat it was then time to head to my friends house to meet with everyone else before leaving for the ball. When getting to my friends house it was photos photos photos! Everyone looked so nice and glamed up photos were a must!

We then got in the car about 6-45 and headed to the venue. When we got there we met up with more friends had more photos and went inside where we chatted and chilled for a while. After half an hour we were let into the hall where we were seating (table 10). On the table there was alcohol included (we were all of age - 18years). 2 bottles of wine, 3 beers, 3 J2O's for a table of 10... perfect really :). It was then speeches from head boy and girl, headmaster and then head of year. Then the head boy and girl gave out awards, which were quite random like... 'do you even lift' 'who is likely to give most awkward walk to getting an awkward award' pretty random tbf.

We then had out meal (chicken for main and eton mess for dessert). Finally it was time to dance the night away, go to the photo booth, have a professional photos and relax! The night then ended at 12, we went back to my friends and chatted and relaxed! Overall the night was amazing, the friends I have made at this school are incredible, I couldn't be any more blessed to have been with people I love and care about so much. The leavers ball was a perfect way to celebrate everything we have achieved!
Thank you all so much for reading, and if you had a ball/prom this year I hope it was amazing! I will see you all very soon!

Interview with 'Little Thoughts From Little People'.

Hey!
Hope you're all doing well and your week has been fab! Recently a blogger named Eleanor did an interview for her new series of interviewing bloggers. So today I thought I would do the same and share her answers with the questions I gave her. To see the post she wrote about me click here. Me and Eleanor have become good friends over twitter and the thought of getting to know each other better and other people knowing us better is cool so we did an interview. We met over our hate for psychology exams haha! and then recently found out we both had a blog! So here we go :)
Go on over and check out her blog and follow her :D.
Her blog: http://littlethoughtsfromlittlepeople.blogspot.co.uk/2015_06_01_archive.html

Questions:
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and why you started blogging.
A: My name is Eleanor and I am 18 years old and I am from Leeds! I started blogging originally because I wanted a little space to put all of my thoughts. Also I was (and am) concerned with the amount of negativity aimed towards teenage girls about conforming and how this was effecting a lot of people and I made this to reach out to people to help and inspire people in times of need and to remind them how fabulous they are.
2. What do you blog about?A: Thus I blog about a lot of issues that are super important to me such as body image and image in general, I also do a lot of work on mental health awareness and run a mental health awareness campaign every march which a lot of people get involved with and is always really awesome. Every tuesday I do my "little thought" posts where I aim to inspire and make people feel good! On fridays I also do my "random days" so these days I basically post about anything, maybe things I'm loving or a makeup or book review or whatever I feel like doing! Additionally on sundays I now have a new series where I interview a blogger which is really fun! Oh and every last tuesday of the month I do a music post, I go over the top ten and also my playlist I have been listening too!
3. Where does your inspiration come from for your posts?A: I think my inspiration comes from things I see around me like a lot of social media and social issues!
A:  My fave blogs are Emma Griffy (http://www.emmagriffy.com/) Career girl daily (http://www.careergirldaily.com/) My friend Chloe's ( http://little-lifestyle-chloe.blogspot.co.uk/
A: I think these two combined are just probably silly memories of me and my sister playing with my dad, we used to dress him up in silly outfits and put feather boas on him and stuff after dinner haha!
A: Omg this is such as awesome question and so hard! I would have to go with facebook though I think because I have all my friends on there and its so much easier to keep in touch with people in there and because I am going to uni I need it as I don't have everyones numbers and its always nice to use facebook to get in touch with people you have not seen for a while! God I'd miss tumblr though
A: I'm literally not sure, I have rekindled a lot of obsessions lately having been putting them off for a really long time eg blogging and watching pokemon (umm) but I did just start watching prison break and I think that this is going to become a massive obbsession!
A: Happiness! I just want to be happy and be surrounded by my favourite people and to be doing something I love everyday
A: I used to adore miserable at best by mayday parade! That was like when I was 14 (we don't talk about that stage in my life.) All joking aside I actually still love Mayday Parade. Also another all time fave which I still adore is the hot fuss album by the Killers which I probably discovered at the same time and it is still my baby.
A:My one piece of advice would be to find out what you love posting about most. If you love posting about something chances are people will love reading about it too so find what you like to do and stick with it! I love blogging in an organised and regular way and doing a massive range of things but I know people who just like to blog as and when they feel like it or will just blog whenever they have inspiration or just like doing predominantly music blogs or predominantly beauty blogs so it's all about discovering what you like! I would also recomend joining bloglovin, its an amazing way to get to know other bloggers and read other blogs!

Thank you all so much for reading, go ahead and check Eleanor out, she is an amazing person and super lovely! See you soon!

4. If you were to recommend another blog/blogger to go and read, who would it be and why?
5. What is your funniest and best childhood memory?
6. If there was only one piece of social media that you could use, what would it be and why?
7. Over the past month has there been anything you have been obsessed with (e.g. music, food, item)?
8. In life, what is one thing you would like to achieve?
9. Throwback to when you were younger/early teens... what was your most loved song?
10. If there was one piece of advice you could give to new bloggers what would it be?

Photography.

Hey!
Hope you're all doing okay! One of the hobbies I have simply loved doing for years is taking photos of what's around me, what's in-front of me or simply objects and items that I am enjoying and posting them online. The idea of documenting something through photos is a way for me to capture a key moment in life, or capturing a really simple probably over-rated Starbucks... but I just love it regardless! By no means am I a professional I just love taking photos.

I love the whole process of taking a photo, then editing it, and then posting it online, its like another creative outlet for me. "A camera is a save button for the mind's eye -RK". This is very true, the generation that we live in now we are surrounded by smart phones and camera's and catching a moment with friends, family or own your own is becoming much more common. So much goes on, having a physical copy of what has happened allows me to remember that day forever.

The amount of photos I take is ridiculous... honestly I think I'm known for taking too many photos, or trying to take a snap for Instagram in my friendship group. I'm like it pretty much anywhere I go! I have even created 2 Instagram accounts... I have a literally obsession! But I don't really care, I just love it. My first account being personal where I document photos with friends and family, then a second account where everything is black and white:
Here are 2 examples from my black and white blog that I have recently set up. I love the idea of just taking small little features like a pine-cone and a flower and making it the full feature of the photo. The idea of having it in black and white simply allows you to focus on what is in the photo rather than the bright coloured images.

Feel free to check it out and follow :)

Does anyone else have the same obsession or is it just me?

Thank you for reading. Hope you all have a wonderful day/night and I'll be back soon. Taking photos is something that I enjoy doing, and something I thought I would share with you.

Being Healthy...

Hey!
Hope you're all doing well and today is a good day for you. There is a topic that I wanted to always talk about but never know how to get around it and that is 'being healthy'. There are so many perceptions of what we 'must' be from social media, and the pressure today to be tall, skinny and tanned is ridiculous. My thoughts on the whole idea is:

"If you're body is healthy and there are no posing health risks, and you're happy with yourself, be happy, don't let anyone else tell what you should and shouldn't look like or what you should and shouldn't eat".

The idea of loosing weight, going to the gym and dieting is increasing to get the 'summer body' but I've found that do it for yourself and not for other people, If you want to get toned and have a flat stomach do it, but don't force yourself or be pressured into doing so if everyone else is. The only factor that I believe is appropriate to loose weight and being told to loose weight is if there is any posing health risks and loosing weight would help decrease this, for example high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease, then there is a need to loose weight for those specific reasons.

Being healthier is something that I am striving towards, not to loose weight but just to feel happier and healthier inside. To do this is set goals/tasks, that I knew would make a change.

My Goals/Tasks:
1. Eat more 'superfoods' = right now I am loving kale which is supposed to hold more vitamins and minerals. Other supposed 'superfoods' = broccoli, pomegranate, quinoa.

2. Drink more water = water can be super boring, so adding slices of lemon and lime make it more interesting, and much nicer. Along with that there are plenty of benefits, it helps detox any nasty toxins within the body, overall has made me feel healthier.

3. Still have a treat = I am never going to become this super healthy individual but making small changes help, and having a treat is important, at the end of the day eating what you love is important. There is no way I am ever going to cut out chocolate cake in my diet haha!

Overall being healthy I feel is important and making steps to being healthier can make a change to how you feel as an individual. But what I don't believe in is being forced to loose weight if there is no supposed need unless its a goal of yours.

Thank you for reading! I would love to hear your comments on 'loosing weight and being healthy' below in the comments and any tips or foods you eat that keep you healthy :). I hope the rest of the week is good, and I will see you all soon.

Little Update...

Hey!
Recently everything has kind of gone to pot on my blog and it's been a little neglected for many reasons. I simply just haven't had time and I apologise. Since I'm in my last year of college I really needed to focus on my exams, and revision was just on-going and a chore but now its all over.

So... I'm back, exams are now over and I can focus on my blog and create plenty more posts! I have a super long summer ahead of me and I plan to make the most of the time off and create some posts that will document my summer as I think its a fun way to share what I'm doing, loving and enjoying whether it be a place, item, product, food... anything really!

This was simply just a very little update to say why I haven't been here and that I will be making plenty of posts during this summer and I hope you enjoy them as much as I will enjoy making them :).

So, I will see you very, very soon...

Detox Hair Exfoliant - Sanctuary Spa

Hey!
Hope you're all doing well and its exam season the pressure is on and if you're currently doing exams good luck! Today I thought I would share a little gem that I found in Boots a few months ago which is the detox hair exfoliant by Sanctuary Spa. (Sadly I cant find them anywhere in stores now so I have to order them offline),

If you are someone like me who has super thick hair that is a nightmare or someone who uses a lot of products in your hair and removing all that is quite a task then try this out, it simply removes all this without any hassle.

Each sachet is worth one use and the price is £2.00 from http://www.boots.com/en/Sanctuary-Daily-Spa-Escape-Cleansing-Hair-Exfoliant-20ml_1232282/ (to note: they've seemed to have changed the packaging but is still the same product). I simply massage this onto my hair/roots before I use shampoo and conditioner and it literally strips my hair of any products and unwanted build up. I also found that after doing this my hair managed to take the shampoo and conditioner much easier and overall left my hair feeling much nicer and in a better condition. I feel it could be quite harsh to use on every wash so I tend to use it at the end of the week s my hair feels refreshed and ready for a new week.

Thank you for reading. Hope you all have a wonderful day/night and I'll be back soon.

Quick Fix Facials!

Hey!
Hows your week going? So far today everything has gone wrong for me haha so I've come here to relax and de-stress! Over the past few weeks I have been searching for an affordable face mask, which is where I stumbled across 'Quick Fix Facials'. They are a really affordable brand which is available in boots for £4.99 per bottle (on offer at the moment for 3 for 2... win!).
Boots: http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Brands-A-to-Z/Quick-Fix-Facials/
There are 6 to choose from (Anti-Blemish Mud, Mega Moisture Mask, Brightening Peel Mask, Exfoliating Scrub Mask, Calming Clay Mask and Purifying Charcoal Mask).
The two that I use the most are the moisture mask and the charcoal mask. To say the least I have fallen in love, they help my skin in different ways. For example the charcoal mask I use on my T-Zone as it is perfect for removing all the dirt/toxins out of my skin after a long day and then the moisture mask around the rest of my face to let my skin feel healthier and full of moisture. I tend to use these around twice a week at the moment as my skin needs it, each bottle states it has up to 10 uses, however depending on how often and how much you use it can vary.

So, what's in them?
Mega Moisture = hyaluronic acid for hydration, vitamin E for full of antioxidants and finally marine collagen which helps the skin retain moisture. (The smell isn't bad but its quite sweet/fresh together something that definitely took me a while to get used to)

Charcoal Mask = active charcoal for clearing pores and removing toxins and impurities, dragon fruit for vitamin C for promoting moisture and radiance of the skin and cinnamon extract to help clarify the skin. (Personally I can smell the cinnamon in the mask, I suggest smelling it before trying it as the smell might be a little overwhelming but I liked it)

Overall if you want a drug store mask that it affordable and is kind and works good on the skin then definitely give these a try I highly recommend it :). Thank you for reading, if you have any other face masks which work a treat I would love to know, jot them down in the comments :). Hope you all have a wonderful day/night and I'll be back soon.

Meeting Connor Franta!

Hey!
On the 25/05/2015 something surreal happened. I met Connor Franta! Someone I had been watching for years now, and someone I had always wanted to meet! He is only getting bigger and better both on his YouTube channel and other projects. The effort that goes into the work and the dedication he has is inspiring and the content he creates, is well simply creative. With the release of 'A Work In Progress' and a book tour in the UK... this was the perfect time to meet him. Me and my friends managed to get close to the front of the queue, and (hour waiting) and 40 minutes later I met Connor.

He is genuinely one of the nicest people I have met to date and so welcoming so having the chance to meet him was amazing and I will be forever thankful that he flew all the way to the UK to meet so many of us! A complete week of travelling around the UK simply to meet and sign as many books as possible. A Work In Progress (memoir) is a brilliant book detailing so many different elements and factors, and a must have in your collection :). If you've never heard of him before go and check out his YouTube channel (the videos I love are 'A Simple Question' and 'Life Doesn't Wait' and 'Say Anything Challenge' in all honesty I love all the videos he's created). He is so genuine and honest in what he does and says which is probably a reason why so many people follow and support him so much.

Thank you for reading, I simply wrote this because it was an experience that I enjoyed and wanted to share. If you also met Connor at any of his book signings I hope you enjoyed day too! Hope you all have a wonderful day/night and I'll be back soon.
