A Quick Message.

Hi!
Just a quick message - Today I am going on holiday... yay! However this does mean that for the next two weeks there wont be anything uploaded on my blog as the Wifi will probably be poor and I wont have any 3G, apologies :(. However throughout the holiday I will be thinking and processing blog ideas for when I land! This means that I will be set and ready to start posting again when I return home!

Thank you for reading, I hope you all have an amazing week. I will see you all very soon...

p.s If I do have good Wifi and access to a computer I will try my best as I don't want to be inactive for two weeks :).

The Big Hoot!

Hey!
I hope you have all had a good week and your weekend is looking bright. Ever since I was young I have always loved art, which led me to take it for A-Levels. One place I always love it visit is Birmingham. One day I was visiting Birmingham and there were honestly massive owls painted differently all around the city... so I did a little research.

They are running an art exhibition (Wild in Art) working in partnership with Birmingham Children's Hospital. There are over 89 different owl sculptures  to see and each one is decorated by individual artists! Each individual owl has also been sponsored by companies and organisations and at the end of the trial they will be auctioned off to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital. There is also owlets being creating by younger people which are being displayed in parliaments as part of their education programme.

The whole exhibition will run from the 20th of July to 27th of September 2015 and if you're interested is something cool to go and look around. If you want to auction for the owls then tit is due to take place on the 15th of October in ThinkTank Birmingham City Centre, but you must register before on line here.

A few of the owls I found:
Top left: "Nightingale"- Inspired by Demi Lovato and her song Nightingale. Lonely owl watching over a busy cityscape.
Top right: "Swirly Whirly Birmingham Owl-land" - Represetns the city's diverse population.
Bottom left: "Starlight" - Designed by artist working in Birminghams Children in Care, looking for children to be adopted or fostered: www.adoptandfoster.co.uk
Bottom right: "Selfie" - Inspired by the Selfridges store and the trend of taking selfies!

Thank you for reading, I know this was a little different but something I thought was cool and an amazing cause and way of making money for Birmingham Children's Hospital!

See you soon!

Personality Type Test...

Hey!
Hope you're all doing well :). For this post I was inspired by Will Darbyshire (a current you-tuber who recently posted a video called 'Who Am I' to watch click here) He spoke about a personality test that is available to take in order to find out which personality type you are.

The free personality test: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp
Background: The test was based on Carl Jung's and Isabel Briggs Myer's approach to personality. There are 16 different types of personality and the test tells you which one you are based on a series of questions. It gives you the strengths and weaknesses of your personality, as well as the careers and opportunities that might be best suited to your personality type. You can all see which famous people share the same personality type as you.

So... I decided to take the test..
There were 64 questions and then it asked for your age and gender... overall it took around 20 minutes.
You are either... introvert/extrovert, sensing/intuition, feeling/thinking and judging/perceiving.

My Result: ISFJ (Introvert 41%, Sensing 12%, Feeling 3%, Judging 34%.An ISFJ description (brief); they have the desire to serve others, often unappreciated at work, home and play and often are taken for granted, they are often overworked and they don't often toot their own horn meaning they deserve more credit but somehow its wrong to want any sort of reward for doing work. They are patient and sympathetic and accurate workers. They have personal loyalties over institutional loyalties. The family are at the centre of their life but can be possessive of their loved ones and must learn to adjust to behaviours and not interpret it as rejection. They have few, close friends and are very loyal, however hate confrontation. They also find it difficult to hide or articulate any distress they may be feeling.
Career choices: health care, community care, social work and service-orientated professions (good job haha I'm going into nursing!)

Why not try it out for yourself and see what personality type you score with. It may not be 100% accurate but its a fun activity to do to find out a little more about yourself :). Let me know in the comments below :D. See you all soon!

Nars Sheer Glow Review.

Hey!
Its a new week and I hope you get everything done that you need :). I have a super busy week before going back on holiday next week!

For years my holy grail foundation is Mac - Face and Body (for that review click here). Recently I decided to purchase the Nars Sheer Glow foundation as I had my eye on it for a while and decided to treat myself :). However I knew it would take a lot for a foundation to beat the one I use everyday. However it seemed to surprise me when I had a lady do it for me on a Nars counter.

Cost: £31.00 for 30ml. Pretty pricey I know, but who doesn't want to treat themselves every now and then! It claims to have a satin finish that is build-able, which helps hydrate the skin and smooth out the complexion. Another reason why I brought this... my skin is type is dry, so I thought yes! This will be perfect!

My Review:
I really do like this product, it is super soft and silky and leaves a lovely finish. I am in the shade 'Deauville" Which is a yellow based foundation which seems to have a slight (very slight) hint of pink.

To the left is a photo of the colour the top is Sheer Glow and the one underneath is Face and Body (C3). Sheer Glow is lighter than my mac foundation however when blended on the face seems to be a similar colour, but I still feel my C3 Face and Body foundation matches me better. One of the problems I have run into when using Sheer Glow is how to apply the product... If I use a brush it doesn't blend nicely, if I use a beauty blender or my fingers it seems to go a little patchy around my jaw and mouth. Also when I tried it I had dry patches and it did seem to cling a little bit (Face and Body seemed to do that a little too). If anyone has any tips on how they apply Sheer Glow it would be great if you could leave a comment! The consistency of the foundation is thicker than Face and Body but isn't too thick (still a little runny but not much), The foundation doesn't look fake when used it looks natural :).

Sheer Glow is build-able and I really like that the first layer of coverage is light/medium and covers any redness I have, and does make my skin look nicer overall. If you build it up and add another layer it does have higher coverage and if that's something you are looking for I fully suggest this foundation. There was also no flashback when photos were taken! It also seemed to set nicely when I used a power, however I would wait a while before doing so, this lets the foundation set on top of the skin for the finish to come through. It did last me all day however it collected around my nose and chin.

The foundation doesn't come with a pump and is something that you have to buy separately (costs £3) and the lid doesn't fit over the top however the pump does have a locking system which is needed as I am planning to take this on holiday.

Overall I do really like the foundation but at the moment I don't know if its worth £31.00! I think I need to play around more with it and find the perfect way to apply it that works on my skin :). I'm still leaning towards my Face and Body foundation because I 100% know it works for my skin! I will see you all later in the week!

Staying Safe Abroad...

Hey!
Its the weekend! You literally made it through the week - well done :D. After writing my part 1 and part 2 posts on my holiday to Malaga with my friends I realised there are some tips I discovered to be safe abroad for the first time with your friends.

1. Go with friends that you know will look after you in a situation of need:
-I was super ill on holiday and ended up in hospital... if a situation like this occurs (it could happen to anyone) then make sure you go with at least one person who you know will be there for you, and wont be mean or ignore you if you need their help!

2. Be wary on the nights out on the strip:
-If there is one thing I had learnt is that some of the men in Spain can be a little weird, just need to be cautious when out. We got in a few situations where we were followed for the night, or where men would walk over and wouldn't leave you alone, even with the simple act of catching their eye (simply looking around the club) they had a reason to come over. Stay cautious, if they creep you out, say no and walk away with your friends... never alone. Never go anywhere in a place you don't know alone. Tell your friends if you feel uncomfortable and then find a new nightclub. However do not let it ruin your night :)! At the end of the day you're there to have fun!

3. Stay hydrated and make sure you eat:
-The temperate is likely to be a lot hotter than you imagine, so being hydrated is key to staying healthy and feeling less tired. Also if you are out on the strip and drinking a lot of alcohol the simple fact of eating and drinking water will help you recover and make you feel better after a fab night out! (You are then simply ready and healthy for the next night out... well as healthy as you can be on holiday!). Its crazy how drained you can feel if you don't eat for drink properly in hot temperatures.

Of course there are many other tips when going on holiday... making sure you wear sun cream, Make sure you have a safe to lock away important documents and money etc, make sure you have everyone's number, stay out of extremely hot weather if you feel ill, get at least some sleep etc etc.

Thank you so much for reading, and if you are going on any holiday at all I hope you enjoy it! Are there any other tips that you have?

Malaga Part 2!

Hey,
This will now be the second part of my trip to Mlaga with my friends. To check out the first few days of my holiday go ahead and read my previous post to understand and be up to date :).

Day 3 = Monday 6th July.
This was was a bag of mixed emotions! The day started of with me feeling incredibly sick and dizzy which I had to sleep off until midday. I simply thought it was heat exhaustion so I stayed out of the sun while the other sunbathed. Without knowing the temperate reached up to 40 degrees that day... so so so hot, at times it was lovely... however at others it was unbearable It then came to 1:20pm... the time for the activity of the day... parasailing... I was absolutely petrified! If you ever go to Fuengirola go and check out Pirate Parasialing in the Port, they are so friendly and welcoming and the overall experience was brilliant... a must do experience! Because i was so ill they took us out on our own so I only had to fear a boat ride for 15 minutes,,, they also gave me a sickness tablet to help with the sea sickness. After that we then went back to the beach where we slept some more and relaxed before going to get changed and eat. Monday night I was really ill again so unfortunately I couldn't go out for the night so I ended up sleeping for 14 hours :( while the others went off to the nightclubs.

Day 4 = Tuesday 7th July
I woke up feeling worse for wear and pretty crap. Apart from venturing out early to see the sunrise nothing else really happened...so it was another beach day where we relaxed and slept some more and went in and out of the sea and just overall didn't do much... simply that was our holiday, doing nothing to relax... just what I needed! I then fell even worse so I went back to to the hotel and had a shower and got ready for tea where I ate another pizza while the others had an Indian. We then packed while the others were getting ready for the night out as I was feeling too ill. The early hours of the next morning went incredibly down hill...

Day 5 - Wednesday 8th July
Its early hours of the morning where it all went wrong, I was so ill I couldn't walk, sit or lie down so I literally led on the floor in the dark while my friends called a doctor. The doctor then examined me... he told me I didn't need to worry but I needed to go to hospital...No! So an ambulance was called and 2 paramedics came to collect me and took me to the ambulance where one of my friends joined me. They took my blood and blood pressure and then it was a scary and long ride to the hospital. Once there I got checked in and then sat in the wheelchair until being seen by a doctor where he did some more tests and told me I had vertigo (BPPV).. Which makes one feel dizzy and unbalanced due to something happening in the inner ear, I honestly had to hold fully onto a doctor or paramedic to literally walk me anywhere... thankfully there were wheelchairs! I then had to leave my friend (scared) to be hooked up to some medication which would stop me feeling sick and reduce feeling dizzy. 5 different medications and half an hour later I was happy as larry and free to go! They put me on medication for the next three days and to be honest I haven't felt right since! This had to happen on the last day where I had to fly later that night... thankfully I was discharged with nothing too serious otherwise I would have been stranded!

By the time I got back to the hotel it was 3am so it was time to sleep! A few hours later I woke up feeling a little worse for wear and got some breakfast. We all then went for a walk up and down the beach... but it was simply way too hot so we stayed in the hotel for the rest of the day :( We had to check out at 11 so there was no set room for us... the hotel lobby it was! After getting fresh and clean with a wash we caught the transfer to the hotel at 7-15pm to catch out flight to home, Everything went smoothly on the way home... safe flight and medication stopped me feeling sick. That day was very stressful but my friends helped me get through it!

Thankyou so much for reading this little part one and part 2 of my trip to Malaga,,, were already planning our next trip away for next summer... exciting (hopefully everyone can make it next year)!! The holiday was an amazing experience and if you can go, do it, you wont regret it, I got to go with 2 amazing friends and loved it, just have to step out of your comfort zone! I will see you soon with another post!

Malaga Part 1!

Hey!
Its a new week and a new chapter begins.I got to go on a holiday with 2 of my closest friends, and wow... okay, let me say I had the time of my life! We flew out on Friday afternoon and arrived in Fuengirola (Malaga - Spain) Friday night so we simply got to know our bearings and where we were that night and went for something to eat (simply something form the super market because we were so tired)

Day 1 = Saturday 4th July

The first day were here it was slightly cloudy and rained the smallest amount, but the beach was still the place to be! We sunbathed all day (when the sun was out, and trust me when it was out, it was hot.) We stayed at the beach until about 5pm, where we then went back and showered, relaxed and got ready for something to eat and half past 9. We ate at a Italian/Mexican/Indian place which did amazing beautiful pizza's! We then took a relaxing walk back to the hotel where we got all dressed up and got ready for the night ahead in Fuengirola Strip! at 1am we headed out to the nightclub's and bars and literally partied the night away until 7am where we landed back in the hotel to sleep the late night off. The alcohol ratio abroad is ridiculous! there is more alcohol than coke haha! Although that does mean less money spent...! We spent the night in a bar called OXID and then moved onto a nightclub called London Underground... which literally resembled a night out in the UK but much much... much louder! Apart from being sick from drinking too quickly (do not recommend) and the anxiety of being in an enclosed place I had a blast! Do not regret anything. One wary thing is that there are some very strange men around so the importance of sticking together is key!

Day 2 = Sunday 5th July
After the night out we literally slept for 3 hours and we were up at 11am ready for the beach! The sky was so much clearer, the sun was out and there was blue skies... time to start tanning! The temperature on this day probably hit around mid 30's... something the UK never quite reaches to so I was super happy! For most of the day we sunbathed, went into the sea and relaxed and recovered after the night out. I'm pretty sure I slept for a sold 4 hours on the sun lounger... without getting burnt... miracle! For lunch we went back to the pizza place however we got a take away pizza so we could enjoy the sun on the beach while tucking into a delicious pizza! We stayed on the beach until 7pm where we decided it was time to shower and get ready for tea where we ate around 9pm. That night we managed to get free Sangria with our meal at a different italian place... win! We then walked along the beach home and admired the place we were in... That day was so much more relaxed and peaceful, just what we needed to unwind and enjoy the weather! We took some night time beach photos and then went back to the hotel around midnight to sleep and be prepared for the next day ahead of us...

This is the first part my trip to Malaga, otherwise one post would be pages long haha! Plus I think it is nice to split up the holiday into little segments. There is still so much that happened on the holiday with my friends and I cannot wait to share that experience with you. So on that note thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

Books I Have Been Loving...

Hey!
How are you all doing? Hope this week has been positive and something amazing has happened. Over the past 5 days I have been on holiday with 2 of my closest friends... What can I say I had an absolute blast (more about this in another couples of posts).

Since being on holiday I seem to constantly read... As in read constantly without taking any breaks for days on end haha! Since I have been loving that, I thought I would share with you the books that I read on holiday. Since I read quite a bit I decided to buy a kindle, this is a much easier way to carry round loads of books without the added weight... perfect when going on holiday!

1. Louise Pentland (Sprinkle of Glitter) - Life With A Sprinkle Of GlitterThis is a very, very good book! It covers so many amazing chapters which is flowing with positivity, some of the chapters being 'body positivity, dealing with bullying, anti-baking'. You can literally pick up this book and put it down at at any time, each chapter is unique and one of its own. Its well written and easy to read, overall a really lovely book.

2. Cathy Glass - Saving Danny
I have always loved Cathy Glass, she writes amazing foster care books, and Saving Danny was another amazing book, and her most recent book release. This one is all about a young 6 year old boy with autism and the struggles that he faces, it is really eye opening and amazing to read, also one that hits the heart. Overall another amazing book, I am never disappointed when Cathy Glass releases a new book.

3. Joey Graceffa - In Real Life
I have only just started reading Joey's book and so far I am loving it, learning more about him in each page from his childhood to now and his struggles that he faced as a young child. So far at the end of each chapter there is a little help section on what to do. I'm sure this is going to be a well written and helpful book, and I'm sure I will comment about it on here once I have finished reading it.

Next I will be reading... Paula Hawkins - Girl On The Train and Jennifer Niven - All The Bright Places. If I enjoy these as much as the ones I read on holiday I will be sure to tell you about them! Are there any books you are currently enjoying? Why not leave a comment and let me know, I love finding new books to read!

Thank you so much for reading, and I cant wait to tell you about the holiday I have just been on!

My Holiday Essentials.

Hey!
I hope you are all doing well and the week so far has been good! This will be my last post before I go on holiday in a few days, I will be back posting on Saturday the 11th July.

I am super lucky to be going on holiday in a few days so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to show you some of the 'essentials' that I will be taking with me!
Holidays are such a perfect way to relax and enjoy some sunshine. On Friday I am off to Malaga with 2 of my friends to celebrate finishing school and sixth form together! I honestly I am just so excited to have time to reflect and relax!

My Essentials:
-Sun-cream (body and lips)
-Sunglasses
-Camera
-Wet Wipes and Face Wipes
-Mini's

When going on holiday sun-cream is such an important factor as the sun is great but extremely harmful to the skin and protection is vital. I will be taking the Nivea protect and refresh sun-cream, which has a cooling spray which is perfect for the hot humid days. It is also important to protect the lips, so for this I am taking lip salve of 30SPF and a lip balm which holds 15SPF so there is no sun damage.

Taking sunglasses is pretty obvious, the idea of walking down the street squinting for me is a no no. Another essential is a camera, taking a camera allows me to take high quality pictures of the island around me, and the people I with, a staple to help me capture important and amazing moments with my friends.

Taking wet wipes and face wipes is key, you never know what is around the corner. Also I use them for keeping cool when I get too hot and there is no way of keeping cool. Also when I go to restaurants and fast food places to have something to wipe my hand with afterwards.

The idea of taking mini's excites me, I don't know why they just do haha. I love shopping for them and using them. Minis are a perfect way to take what you love without it being too heavy. This year I'm taking a mini shampoo and conditioner, a mini batiste dry shampoo, mini toothpaste and brush and mini sun-cream. They are small and easy to carry around in a bag as well as not taking up too much space in the hotel bathroom.

Thank you so much for reading, and these are just a few of my holiday essentials, however writing them all would just take forever and would probably get really boring haha. Are any of you going on holiday this year, if so let me know in the comments where your going and what are your essentials? See you soon.
