Life Living In University...

Hey!
I have been so absent these past few weeks because so many different things have changed in my life... it has all been so overwhelming and blogging has been forgotten about, simply because it's been the last thing that is on my mind. I used to upload regularly however now I think I'm only going to be able to upload when I can. This is only because I'm on a course that has a heavy load and with the amount of work I am going to have is ridiculous!

I'm sure so many people are in the same situation about moving out and starting a new chapter in their new life... however this is such an amazing new chapter and taking I'm taking it will full force... however I still want a hobby which is why I will be uploading on here every now and again!

I hope you all understand, I also hope that you are having an amazing week! I will speak to you all soon!

Funfetti Cupcakes!

Hey!
Something that I love doing is baking, however I do have to admit I'm not very good at it! However after seeing Zoella's video on her main channel, they seemed easy enough so I decided to give them a try and here's how they went: (I think they went okay!)
Funfetti Cupcakes with vanilla butter-cream... yum! The little sprinkles melt to create little pockets of colour!

Ingredients:
1. Cake:
-125g caster sugar
-125g self raising flour
-2 large free range eggs
-125g unsalted butter (room temperature if possible)
-1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
-1 1/2 tablespoon of milk
-1/4 teaposoon on vanilla extract
-sprinkles!

2. Butter-cream icing:
-335g icing sugar
-150g unsalted butter (room temperature if possible)
-1-2 tablespoons of milk
-1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Also... piping bags and nozzles, as well as cupcake cases.

1. The first thing that I did was pre heat my oven to 170 degrees Celsius and put the cupcake cases into a tray so I was all prepared!

Cupcake: (Photos below instructions)
2. In a bowl mix your caster sugar and butter, you can either do this the hard way by using a wooden spoon or do it the easy way by using a whisk! After you have done that whisk together 2 of the eggs.

3. After that you want to add the milk, vanilla extract and whisk again.

4. That's all the wet ingredients mixed together, so now we are going to move onto the dry ingredients, so in a separate bowl I mixed together the self raising flour and bicarbonate of soda. Then you want to slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. You want to slowly add the dry ingredients so help everything mix together properly and there is no lumps!

5. After all the dry and wet ingredients are mixed together its time to add your sprinkles! This is completely up to you... you can add as many or as little as you went depending on how much colour you want. In the oven the sprinkles will melt and there will be little bursts of colour... I decided to add the whole tube!

You then want to scoop the mixture into your cupcake cases and place into the pre heated oven for around 20 minutes until they are lightly golden and have a little bounce to them when you touch them!

Butter-cream icing:
While your cakes are in the oven this is the perfect time to start making your icing.

1. You want to mix the butter for a little while until it is pale, this will make it much softer and much easier for the icing sugar to blend in with the butter.

After you have got that consistency...
2. You want to slowly add your icing sugar again in small sections and whisk together until smooth, keep on doing this process until all of your icing sugar has been mixed into the butter!

3. Then if it is a little thick add the milk, then finally you want to add the vanilla extract to give it some taste!
-By now your cupcakes should have cooked, and they should be cooling down. This is super important... you must leave your cupcakes to completely cool! I know... its difficult! If you don't leave them that beautiful butter-cream icing you made will just melt over the top!

4. In the mean time why don't you place you butter-cream icing into your piping bag so you are all set to ice the cupcakes!

5. Start Icing! How you ice them is completely up to you... you could do swirls, dots, cross-hatch... whatever takes your fancy! Now to be honest I was completely rubbish at this, and they didn't look the best!

My final cupcake:
Even though they didn't look the best... I have got to say they tasted delicious! Now why not try and do them for yourself, they are super fun and easy to make, and if I'm honest, if I can make them so can you! Plus I didn't realise that I used sour sprinkles! But... I have got to say I think it made the cake taste even nicer!

Thank you all so much for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful day! Let me know in the comments below if you are any good at baking, and if so what do you love to bake? Or what is your favourite cake! See you all soon.

Fear Of Driving :(!

Hey!
I hope you are all doing well! Today I thought I would share something that has been on my mind for a long time, and I literally mean almost everyday... I have a complete hate and fear for driving and it sucks!

I passed my test well over a year ago (I know not very long). I used to love driving, I'd offer to drive my friends places, or I'd just pop to the shop. It made my life so much easier, but then all of a sudden it all stopped and I'd dread the next time I had to drive somewhere. I have always been an anxious driver right from my lessons, and I used to cope with it well but all of a sudden it's stopping me driving, and I try to tell myself 'I'll be fine' 'You're a good little driver' but nothing seems to help!

Fears...
I cannot pinpoint this on one exact thing to be precise, I am literally just terrified! I hate the fact that there are hundreds of people going past me while I drive, staring at me and judging me because of my driving, when I'm literally not doing anything wrong. The thought of stopping at a roundabout and stalling and people laughing and staring at me petrifies me. I literally do not want to be noticed at all, it makes me so nervous!

Everyone has been telling me: 'you just need practice, you need experience' but I would go out there and get some experience of driving if I had the confidence... I'm too scared to even start to contemplate getting in a car again.

I have literally gotten to the point where I could drive to my friends however I back out and choose not too and spend money on bus and train tickets where there is a car sitting around not going anywhere!

...
It literally sucks, and I have no clue how to get around this, so if anyone is out there who feels the same, or has been and overcome this please leave a comment or get in contact with me on my google plus, it would be appreciated because I really want to enjoy driving again :(.

Thank you for reading, sorry it wasn't an uplifiting post! However, I shall speak to you soon!

Preparing For University!

Hey!
I hope you are all okay! Today I'm going to be talking about Uni! This is something I am super nervous for, but at the same time I'm super excited! If you're like me and a student about to move out of homes for the first time and move into halls or you are starting a new chapter in your life... I wish you all the best :). I thought I would share with you some ideas that I have found useful while papering for uni...

1. List making...
-I honestly think writing everything you need to do down on some paper is a good idea, this way you will never forget what you have to do, or what you need to buy if you're moving into student accommodation. I honestly think I have about 7 different lists going on around me, from a kitchen essentials list, to a bathroom list, to my enrolment list and documents list!
-The lists may make you more organised, to put your ideas into order rather than having a scrambled brain trying to remember everything! I feel a list is more likely to make you productive and crossing off a part of the list is like an achievement!
-All you need is a notebook and some pens... easy!

2. Living in halls... Nosh for Students cook book!
-If you're like me and can hardly cook (honestly I don't have a single clue!) then these books are for you. They are books for students moving into halls. They contain thousands of easy simple recipes that we can follow, it tells you exactly what you need, along with pictures to show you what the food looks like! The book was inspired by a students parent, so there is first hand knowledge!
-I also liked that it tells you price per person of each meal, the level of difficulty, amount of people it serves, and the prep and cooking time! You can cook your meals according to what you want.
-The Orange book is the simple book whereas the blue one holds more complex recipes.

-At the front of the orange book it tell you information like:
1. What to store in your cupboards or your fridge.
2. How long does food last?
3. How to cook perfect rice and pasta.
4. What do I do? If... its burnt....if I made things too spicy!

Honestly if you are moving into halls I think this is a must buy for people like me who can't/have never really cooked before! Or if you just want to learn how to cook lovely, delicious recipes!

Purchase: I brought mine on Amazon here
Price: Orange = £6.29  Blue = £6.29

3. Sorting documents...
-I have found it really helpful to have a display book, which is essentially a folder that has poly wallets secured into it so you can turn the pages as well as hold documents. This would be important for any letters or information your university sends you. It can also be used to keep important documents... for example your passport, birth certificate, as well as your national insurance number and any letters from your bank and accommodation.
-If you have everything set there read for you in a display book you will be able to find it quickly and without any dread or panic that you have lost it.

Purchase: You can literally buy them from any stationary store, supermarket or on-line (Amazon/eBay)
For example: Amazon sell one for £2.19 here.

Thank you all so much for reading! If you have any useful tips please do leave them in the comments I would love to hear them I'm sure others would love reading them :D. See you all soon.

Liverpool Mini Haul!

Hey!
The last post that I did was my day out in Liverpool, so today I thought I would show you what I brought while I was there!

We spent the afternoon shopping and browsing many, many different shops... however I am the type of person that will never buy anything, I take tons of items into the changing rooms.... and then leave it all behind! Either because I am indecisive and cant make a decision... or I some how convince my way out of it!

However, during my time in Liverpool I did buy some items from Forever 21, Primark and Lush and I thought I would share with you what I brought :)

Stop number one: Forever 21!
Forever 21 website: http://www.forever21.com/UK/Product/Main.aspx
I have always loved this store and always will! In Liverpool they have 3 floors and so, so, so many things to choose from!

I brought 2 lovely jumpers, one which is grey and one which is black, the black one has much shorter sleeves and the grey one is full sleeves... perfect for the winter that it coming our way! The dreaded cold nights and days now September has reached us :(.
Grey - £7.00
Black - £8.00
I als brought a dress, it has this beautiful see-through lace at the top, then black material makes a sweetheart neckline where the lace continues to the waste and then hangs down, while there is a skirt underneath that tucks you in! This is perfect for nights out, or special occasions, it tucks me in at the waste making me look a little slimmer!
Dress - £22.00

Stop number 2: Lush!
Lush website: https://www.lush.co.uk
I will always love Lush no matter what, so I took a little stroll in there to see what I could pick up, I brought two items... one is my trusty bath ballistic known as butterball (a complete review here). I also picked up a blue and pink sparkly bath bomb which is called Intergalactic, which by the way smells amazing... if you love peppermint, you will love this! It states that it has popping candy inside... so I cant wait to give it a try!
Butterball - £2.65
Intergalactic - £3.95

Stop number 3: Primark!
Primark website: http://www.primark.com/en/homepage
I absolutely love Primark for picking up little handy tops and outfits at a cheap price! It is so affordable for a student! Primark was my last stop and by this point I was shattered! But with 3 floors to look through I carried on!

Top left: a lovely simple maroon jumper that is super thin, so you can layer it on top a vest if you wish, also perfect if it is a little warmer out, I liked the fact it has little detailing coming off the side of the sleeves so make it look a little more interesting!
Price - £6.00

Top right: a lovely, smart but also casual maroon/purple jacket, this would be super cute for me to wear to uni, or for a birthday meal, simply anywhere I want to feel a little more dressed up! It is really thin which means you can keep it on for longer without the worry of having to take it off if you get too hot! Which appealed to me because I hate being too warm!
Price - £15.00

Bottom left: a grey jumper with leather type shoulders and a cute little pocket! the leather patches make the jumper a little different and more stylish, its better than just a plain grey jumper!
Price - £8.00

Bottom right: a beautiful deep red shirt that is perfect for a night out, or a day out somewhere with your family or friends, the back also has little cut outs which make it different to a normal shirt, it is also longer at the back then the front which I really liked!
Price - £9.00
Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you all have a fantastic week! Why not give the shops a little mooch around or do some on-line shopping? You never know you might find something!
